We strive to develop your kids into confident, strong and happy leaders that make a difference in your local community. Our curriculum encourages development of soft skills, creative problem-solving and personal attributes through the medium of Karate.
As a member of the Australian Karate Federation, our primary martial art is Shotokan Karate. Alongside it, our curriculum expands to include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Cardio Kickboxing for your kids who wish to enhance their self-defense skills and fitness.
SMILING - SWEATING - LEARNING
Our Kids Karate programs aims to get your kids moving, laughing and encourage their development. Our program ranges from Tiny Ninjas (3 years) to Little Ninjas (4-5 years) and from Dragons (6 years) to Juniors (7-13 years). Your kids will improve their understanding of discipline, resilience and self-defense and have fun at the same time! No prior experience is needed as our classes cater to all levels and learning styles with a mix of traditional technique drilling and games-based activities.
Teenagers and Adults Karate
TECHNIQUE - DISCIPLINE - FOCUS
Our Senior Program is designed for you and your teenaged kids to participate in. It is heavily focused on developing your Karate technique and skills as well as self-defense and fitness with injury-prevention being a priority. No prior experience is necessary as our Instructors will guide you through your Martial Arts journey from any starting point and ensure that you always feel supported, encouraged and progressing!
STRENGTH - CONDITIONING - FLEXIBILITY
If your goals lie in improving your fitness, getting stronger, feeling more energized or even wanting to meet some new people, our Cardio Kickboxing program is for you! We have helped numerous people get to their goal weight, improve their lifestyle and enhance their Karate through our Cardio program. Developed by resident physiotherapist, Sensei Lance Douglas, you will enjoy getting your sweat on in this fast-paced group class! Any and all experience levels are welcome!
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
POWER - STRATEGY - RESILIENCE
Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is great for kids and adults. You will develop your ground defense skills and grappling technique. The lack of striking encourages you to take on more of a strategic perspective and work on your problem-solving skills though physical technique. Think of it as a serious mix of Chess and Twister! We are also a proud member of Australia's #1 BJJ Team, The Australian Elite Team. So, there are opportunities for you to compete in BJJ tournaments and competitions if you wish!
A civil engineer with over 20 years of martial arts experience under his 3rd Dan Black Belt, Sensei Ken has much to offer his students. His Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Ninos Dammo exemplifies his unwavering commitment to perpetual learning. Sensei Ken also travels to study martial arts and has travelled to Thailand, Japan and Brazil on many occasions to train Muay Thai, Karate and BJJ, respectively.
It is almost quite natural to say that Sensei Lance’s resume is almost identical to his brothers. However, Sensei Lance’s experience as a physiotherapist drives his passion for strength and conditioning as well as injury prevention for athletes in martial arts. His experience doesn’t just stop at Karate as a 3rd Dan Black Belt like his brother, but also trained to earn his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and Krav Maga and his Blue Belt in BJJ. Lance is also fluent in Auslan (sign language), which lead to a position as the Chief Medical Officer for the Australian Team at the 2013 Deaflympics in Bulgaria.
Dom brings a hurricane of skill to the Twins Martial Arts team. He has accumulated almost 2 decades of experience under his Black Belt in Karate and has enhanced his techniques through more "Extreme" forms of martial arts. Dom is our resident Extreme Martial Artist with a focus on Spinjitzu, marrying martial arts with breakdancing! Aside from his physical skill, Dom is also fluent in Japanese and an excellent photographer! Keep your eyes on the Twins Facebook page to catch some of his work!
